1. About us

These terms apply to all work carried out by Hinton Electrics, a sole trader operated by Tom Hinton. By instructing us to carry out work you agree to these terms.

2. Quotes & pricing

  • All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days.
  • Fixed-price quotes are agreed before work begins — no surprises on the invoice.
  • If additional work is required that was not apparent at the time of quoting, we will inform you and agree a price before proceeding.
  • Call-out charges apply as published on our pricing page.

3. Payment

  • Payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We accept bank transfer, cash, and card payments.
  • Late payment may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.

4. Warranty

  • All workmanship is covered by a 12-month written warranty.
  • This warranty covers faults arising from our installation or workmanship only.
  • It does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear.
  • Manufacturer warranties on materials and equipment are passed on to you where applicable.

5. Cancellations

  • Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a call-out charge.

6. Liability

  • Hinton Electrics holds £5 million public liability insurance.
  • We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
  • Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.

7. Your responsibilities

  • You must ensure safe access to the work area.
  • You must disclose any known issues with the existing electrical installation.
  • You must not interfere with any work in progress.

8. Governing law
