1. About us
These terms apply to all work carried out by Hinton Electrics, a sole trader operated by Tom Hinton. By instructing us to carry out work you agree to these terms.
2. Quotes & pricing
- All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days.
- Fixed-price quotes are agreed before work begins — no surprises on the invoice.
- If additional work is required that was not apparent at the time of quoting, we will inform you and agree a price before proceeding.
- Call-out charges apply as published on our pricing page.
3. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept bank transfer, cash, and card payments.
- Late payment may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
4. Warranty
- All workmanship is covered by a 12-month written warranty.
- This warranty covers faults arising from our installation or workmanship only.
- It does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear.
- Manufacturer warranties on materials and equipment are passed on to you where applicable.
5. Cancellations
- Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a call-out charge.
6. Liability
- Hinton Electrics holds £5 million public liability insurance.
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
- Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.
7. Your responsibilities
- You must ensure safe access to the work area.
- You must disclose any known issues with the existing electrical installation.
- You must not interfere with any work in progress.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
