If your home still has rubber-insulated or aluminium wiring, it's not just outdated — it can be a fire risk. Old wiring becomes brittle and damaged over time, and it simply wasn't designed to cope with the demands of modern homes.

A full rewire means replacing everything: the circuits, cables, sockets, switches, light fittings and consumer unit. I work through the property room by room wherever possible to keep your home liveable while the work is ongoing. I fill and make good as I go — I won't leave you with holes in your walls.

All rewiring work is done to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), notified to Building Control under Part P, and you'll receive a full installation certificate when it's done. Straightforward and above board.

Common Questions

A full rewire of an average 3-bedroom house typically takes 5–7 days. I'll give you a realistic timeline when I survey the property — no vague estimates.
In most cases no — I work room by room to keep disruption to a minimum. You'll obviously be without power to certain areas at certain points, but I'll always plan around you.
Some making good is needed where cables have been run — I fill and plaster as I go. The finish won't be perfect, but it won't be a mess either. Most customers do a light redecoration after.
